My lipstick collection is a small collection but one that I love. I love my lippies!
I often wear a natural face and use my lipstick as my showstopper. It's a great way to have fun with your makeup look.
Are there more lipsticks I would want? Of course! There are so many colours for each season and so many brands in stores or retail pharmacies, not to mention the amount of independent brands that are churning out vegan and natural products, that there are many more I would want.
Lipsticks like any other makeup product only last so long. All makeup users should be familiar with the expiration dates of their products to avoid skin reactions.
A lipstick can last about 2 years. You can get more out of your lipsticks by storing them correctly and looking after them. Once your lipstick becomes dry and crumbly or breaks, toss it!
When I choose a new lipstick it has to be something really eye catching and unique. Even a nude lip done right can have an amazing effect so finding one that works for you is essential.
If you are starting your lipstick collection, consider the following as must haves in your basic kit:
- a classic red
-a plum or warner red tone
- a nude lip
-soft pink or peach tone
-a pop of colour
If I were to add to my collection of lipsticks, I would throw my entire makeup budget into my newest find, Pretty Zombie Cosmetics. They have the most amazing collection of vegan lipstick colours to vamp up any look. Their liquid lipsticks all have an amazing matte finish and none of their products are tested on animals.
The lipsticks go for $12 a pop, which converts to about R130- not bad considering what lipsticks go for. The processing time can take up to 12 days which is a bit of a wait if you're as excited as I am to get my hands on them, but I've seen their clients wearing the lipsticks- its worth the wait!
If you love a pinup look like I do, check out Pin Up Girl Clothing too, they stock these gorgeous shades as well!
